We will make maximum efforts in order to facilitate business and improve transport for citizens and the economy, says the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirovic, after the first meeting with the representatives of the Transport Community.
Momirovic said that many issues were opened at the meeting, among which the key issue is waiting at the borders, border flow and border procedures.
“That is what hinders the economy, which increases costs in business. Together, we agreed to do our best, to give the maximum, in order to facilitate business and to improve the transport of our citizens and the economy,” Momirovic said.
The Minister said that an agenda has been made and steps have been defined regarding what we have to fulfill in the next year, what needs to be done in the next three years and what the goal is for five years.
He stated that there are issues that are relatively simple and that can be improved relatively quickly, such as the fact that at some border crossings there are not enough scales to measure transport.
“I think we can solve it relatively quickly, but there are some issues that have been neglected for decades, which we have to solve now,” says Momirovic.
As he said, it refers primarily to communication and infrastructure.
Momirovic stated that the railway was neglected for decades, and that now the state is investing a lot of money in the railway.
“We have had more investments in the last five years than in the previous 50 years. Objectively, you have a lot of problems, it can’t just be realized, it’s not a simple story, but I think we are on the way to solve it and that is my absolute priority as a minister,” Momirovic emphasized, Kurir reports.
