Construction of a five-star hotel in the center of Sremski Karlovci should be completed prior to autumn 2011, which exceeds the expectations of even the biggest optimists. The investor is Novi Sad-based renowned building company Prezident, which built a luxury hotel under the same name at 109 Futoska Street in Novi Sad two years ago. The facility in Karlovci will be built next to Seminary, on the lot at 2 Karadjordjeva Street, which is now occupied by an one-floor house that will be torn down soon.

As daily paper Dnevnik learns from Prezident Manager Ivana Borojevic, the hotel in Karlovci will have about 50 beds, that is, about 25 rooms. It will comprise a ceremonial hall with about 300 seats, which will be perfect for seminars, congresses, conferences and other meetings, as well as for wedding parties. Guests will be able to use a wellness and spa center and an indoor swimming pool, while the hotel will also include a gym, a sauna, a restaurant and a cafe.

– The results of the market research we’ve conducted have shown that there is a need for an increase of accommodation capacities in Karlovci – Borojevic explains.

– Sremski Karlovci is a historical and cultural wealth of Serbia and, as such, it represents an ideal place for the construction of one such hotel, which can satisfy the needs of domestic and foreign tourists and businessmen. Our intention is to attract guests from the country and abroad, as well as to promote so-called weekend tourism. I think that this hotel will be a representative facility of Vojvodina and Serbia, ideal for business meetings, which will give a new quality to the tourist offer of both Karlovci and Novi Sad.

According to Mr. Borojevic, the hotel will fit in the ambient of Sremski Karlovci with its look, which is taken care of by the Republic Cultural Heritage Preservation Institute, with which the architects have been intensively cooperating over the past few months.
