As head of the Franchise Center of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Marica Vidanovic told Tanjug, the aim of the expo is to present the advantages and possibilities of franchise business in Serbia, and to motivate the unemployed, entrepreneurs, and small and medium enterprise owners to promote their businesses or start new ones through franchising.

“According to a PKS survey, at the moment there are over 110 franchising brands in Serbia, most of which are foreign, occupying over 2,000 sales posts. These figures are very low when compared to neighboring countries and the world,” Vidanovic said.

The 2nd International Franchise Expo is organized by the Serbian Association for Franchise Development (SURF), while PKS is the main sponsor.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, National Employment Service, Ministry of Trade and Agriculture, and Department for Development of Trade of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade.
