The Committee of the Assembly of Serbia for Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy adopted a quarterly report on the work of the Ministry of Mining and Energy today, and Minister Zorana Mihajlovic said that fundamental changes in the field of energy were planned.
Along with the report on the work, Mihajlovic presented to the board plans for what will be done in the coming months in the field of mining and energy.
“We are facing fundamental changes in the field of energy together with the protection of the environment,” said Mihajlovic, who also presented four legal proposals prepared by the line ministry to the members of the board.
He believes that these legal proposals will be at the session of the Government of Serbia next week, and after that in the parliament.
“We will also discuss structural changes within public companies. Without them, we cannot expect GDP growth, nor can we expand the expansion we want to see in energy and mining. We will also discuss the investment plan,” said Mihajlovic.
She mentioned that there is no development and no future, and that there will be no GDP growth, if we do not have one big, important and significant investment plan.
Her competent cabinet was present at the session of the board, and Mihajlovic says that the relations with the assembly committees in previous years were excellent, and that this is an important and significant support to the Ministry.
The president of the parliamentary committee, Veroljub Arsic, says that the Ministry of Mining and Energy is one of the busiest in the government.
He stated that all economic flows in Serbia depend on the work of public companies that are under the management of the Ministry of Mining and Energy.
“It is also known that the citizens of Serbia have the lowest price of electricity in the whole of Europe, and our goal is not to be affected by high electricity prices,” said Arsic.
He mentioned that it is definitely necessary to reform EPS in the future, in order for that company to be more modern and successful, and for the citizens to continue to receive favorably supplied electricity, Nova reports.
