German companies announce more investments in Serbia

Pointing out that Germany saw a sizeable economic growth of 3.6 % in 2010, and another 2.3 % is expected this year, the Delegation said these trends have contributed to the rising interest of German companies to invest abroad.

In a recent poll conducted by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, 44 % of companies (compared to 26 % in 2010) said they planned to boost current or make new investments abroad, head of the German Economy Delegation in Serbia Michael Schmidt told, noting that Serbia stands to benefit from this.

According to the data of the Business Registers Agency, there are 660 active registered companies in Serbia established by legal and physical persons from Germany, said the Delegation of German Economy for Serbia and Montenegro.
