Minister of Energy, Development and Environment Zorana Mihajlovic said yesterday that the interest of the Serbian government is that the investment of the company Comico Oil in Smederevo is implemented as soon as possible.
Mihajlovic said after meeting with representatives of the company that there is a possibility of out-of-court settlement between Smederevo and the Comico Oil company which plans to build a refinery in that town.
She underlined that it is in the interest of the Serbian government that the investment be realised as soon as possible.
The government would like to secure more investments, and expects that the project would create around 500 jobs in Smederevo, as promised by the investor, she said.
Underlining that in the next few days it would be evident whether the investment could be realised or not, she called on investors to abide by the decisions of state bodies, and operate in keeping with what they had pledged to the local self-government in Smederevo.
The government and relevant ministries, local self-governments and investors make up one team that should work on efficient realisation of investments, the Minister added.
