In mid-September meeting with the EU on agriculture

Meeting of the enhanced permanent dialogue between Serbia and the European Union, the second meeting of the subcommittee on agriculture and fisheries will be held on 15th  and 16th  September in Belgrade, and the main theme will be agriculture, fisheries, food safety, veterinary and sanitary policy, it was announced in  the Ministry of agriculture and trade.

The second meeting of the subcommittee on agriculture and fisheries aims to improve the interim agreement on trade and trade-related matters between the European Community and Serbia, which is used for three years and is of great importance since the EU is the biggest trading partner of our country.

The meeting will be attended by representatives of the EU, the Ministry of agriculture, trade, Ministry of health, Ministry of environment, the Office for European integration, Republic institute for statistics, Department of intellectual property.

The upcoming meeting is an opportunity to exchange information in agriculture and rural development, veterinary and sanitary protection and fisheries, event will include presentation of the activities of the ministry in the process of acquiring the status of Serbia’s candidacy for EU membership last year.

In addition to legislative activities of the ministry it will also be discussed about  institutional changes that have occurred in the previous period of reconstruction after the Serbian government, as well as the institutional framework that is necessary for the use of EU funds after receiving candidate status, said in a statement.
