In the fall of 2021, construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Belgrade

The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, announced today that the construction of a plant for sewerage and wastewater treatment in Belgrade will begin in the fall of 2021.
At the session of the Working Group for monitoring the activities on the realization of the project for the construction of the wastewater treatment plant of the City of Belgrade, Mihajlovic said that investments in communal infrastructure are issues of providing conditions for a better and better life for citizens.
“Together with this project, we will invest more than 3.3 billion euros in water factories, sewers and water purification systems. It is important that we are all together in this project, because our goal is for the works to start in the fall of next year,” she said.
Mihajlovic pointed out the importance of building a wastewater treatment system in Belgrade for the sake of preserving the environment.
Geodetic and geotechnical works are in progress, as well as the development of a conceptual solution and the necessary studies and analyzes.
The meeting, which discussed the realized and current activities, as well as the negotiations for the provision of financial resources, was attended by the director of the representative office of the Chinese company CMEC in Serbia, which is carrying out the work, Li Xuecheng.
The session was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the City of Belgrade, the Public Debt Administration, the Directorate for Construction Land and Construction, the Jaroslav Cerni Institute, JKP Belgrade Water Supply and Sewerage, the Chinese company CMEC in Belgrade and the embassy of China in Serbia, Beta reports.
