In the first half of 2020, the Serbia’s budget deficit exceeds 2.5 billion euros

In the first half of 2020, the republic budget deficit amounted to 2.5 billion euros. Revenues were realized in the amount of 4.82 billion euros and expenditures were made in the amount of 7.36 billion euros. In June alone, the deficit amounted to 569.16 million euros, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
It is added that revenues in the amount of 1.02 billion euros were collected in June, of which tax revenues amounted to 865.83 million euros:
– The largest part of tax revenues refers to the payment of VAT in the amount of 373 million euros and excise in the amount of 265 million euros. Non-tax revenues were realized in the amount of 152 million euros. The inflow of donations in June amounted to 8.3 million euros.
Expenditures were made in the amount of 1.59 billion euros. Expenditures for employees, in June, amounted to 214 million euros, and transfers of OOSO (PIO fund, RHIF, NES, SOVO fund) amounted to 279 million euros. Subsidies amounted to 369.1 million euros, and other current expenditures to 274 million euros, considering that aid was paid to businessmen and citizens from these expenditure categories as part of a set of measures to fight the effects of the corona virus pandemic, the statement said.
At the level of the general government, in the period January – June, the fiscal deficit in the amount of 2.5 billion euros and the primary fiscal deficit in the amount of 2.06 billion euros were realized, eKapija reports.
