The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, announced an increase in salaries and pensions, as well as a one-time financial aid for pensioners by the end of the year. Elections have been announced for next year, so the increase in pensions is coming again in the pre-election year.
Speaking as a guest on TV Prva, she said that she expects an increase in pensions of at least 5% by the end of the year, and that the average salary will be above 600 euros, and all that, as she said, is related to the future elections.
If we have elections next year, I expect that the pension will grow by at least 5% this year, we will try to have something more. We will try to go with another one-time financial support to our pensioners – said Brnabic.
He adds that the current average salary in the country is higher than all the countries in the Western Balkans, and that he expects Bulgaria to be overtaken by next year.
Wages will rise significantly. It will be around 600, a little over 600 euros. Although Montenegro ran away from us in 2012 for 150 euros, we overtook them. I hope that by January 1, 2022, we will overtake Bulgaria, which is in the EU, on the path of growth, and then we will run after the next EU members – she said.
Let us remind you, it was announced earlier that the pensioners will receive a one-time aid of 50 euros this year, which does not include the promised 30 + 30 euros for all citizens, Juzne Vesti reports.
