The Minister of Construction, Tomislav Momirovic, announced the construction of a new sewerage network and a wastewater treatment plant in Paracin.
He stated that there is a major environmental and infrastructural problem in Serbia related to wastewater treatment.
“At the meeting, we agreed to put Paracin on the list of priorities, to initially design a wastewater treatment plant, build a new sewage network and provide the inhabitants of this city with a civilizational level of wastewater treatment,” said Momirovic in Paracin, who visited yesterday.
He stated that this is an investment worth at least 30 million euros and expressed hope that the project will be agreed with the partners in a very short time, with the expectation that the works will start by the end of the year.
According to Momirovic, these works do not only concern the communal infrastructure, because when the sewer pipes are changed, the local roads are also changed.
“We expect that through a large project that refers to a large number of municipalities, primarily in central Serbia, we will change the communal infrastructure and through those investments we will change the local road infrastructure. I think that will be very important for the citizens,” Momirovic said.
He stated that, in addition to investments in infrastructure, it is important to maintain macroeconomic stability in these difficult circumstances.
“I think we have reached good conclusions, that we need to initiate serious investments and completely change the perception that has prevailed in the municipality of Paracin so far,” said Momirovic, who is convinced that citizens will see great changes in the municipality of Paracin in the next year or two, B92 reports.
