Including these donations, Japan has given Serbia around EUR 7.1 million for projects for the basic needs of the population (POPOS) since 1999, and the country’s overall aid to Serbia over the same period has exceeded EUR 200 million.
The government of Japan will donate a total of EUR 224,523 of aid to the Special Hospital for Endemic Nephropathy in Lazarevac, health-care center in Golubac, Health Centre Pozarevac and the special rehabilitation center Termal at Vrdnik Spa, as a support for improving Serbia’s health-care system, the Embassy of Japan in Belgrade announced Thursday.

The ceremony of signing the donation contract, taking place on Friday, will be attended by Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Toshio Tsunozaki and Secretary of State at the Serbian Health Ministry Nevena Karanovic.
