Two Luxoft internship programs for final year students of FON and ETF are attended by a total of 30 students, and the best participants get the opportunity to work in this global IT company.
Since it arrived on the Serbian market last year, Luxoft has primarily focused on developing software for the automotive industry, and the engineers of this international IT company also work on software used in banking, logistics, telecommunications…
Luxoft operates in 29 locations around the world, and in just one year in Serbia it has grown into a company with over 1100 employees with a tendency for further growth. After hundreds of advertisements for senior positions in Serbia, this year the company also focused on young, final-year students of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, who through two internship programs get the opportunity to learn from the world’s greatest experts. After completing the course, the best participants get the opportunity to work at Luxoft.
The General Automotive Program was created specifically for final year FON students, and out of 10 participants who recently completed the program, 5 have already been employed at Luxoft.
“We continue to look for projects for other participants,” says Anton Bardišev, Engineering Director at Luxoft Serbia and adds: “We would like to contribute to the Serbian IT community with our expertise, and we believe that talents are best developed when we start from the earliest stages – that’s why we started from college.”
In this course, students had the opportunity to master the basics of the automotive industry: ASPICE standard, V-Model, Agile – everything they need to understand how the development of automotive software is organized internally, which is the basis for starting a career on specific projects at Luxoft.
“Students were very interested, I would say even excited about working in the automotive industry. That’s what we wanted. Everything else can be learned”, concludes Bardišev.
The same Impression about the students’ interest is shared by Artur Šaitakarov, Lead AI/ML Specialist, who manages Luxoft’s practice program for ETF final year students, entitled “Embedded systems and technologies for working with GPUs and compilers”.
This program is still ongoing, it ends at the beginning of July, and 20 students attend it, of which the best participants will also get the opportunity to work at Luxoft Serbia.
“Students understood the material well, they are active in lectures, they help each other. Impressions are extremely positive. Our plan is to expand the program next year, to introduce new courses, and to include students from other faculties as well”, concluded Šaikatarov.
