Matroz invests €75 million in aluminum smelter in Sremska Mitrovica

Recycling system for beverage cans with capacity of 150,000 t

The company Matroz from Sremska Mitrovica is going to invest €75 million in existing aluminum smelter – said Predrag Doganovic, an assistant to the director of Matroz, in an interview for the Broadcast Corporation of Vojvodina.

The smelter will be recycling aluminum beverage cans. The annual recycling capacity will amount to 75,000 t in the first phase and should be doubled in the second phase and amount to 150,000 t.

In that so-called “dirty” production, strict ecological standards will be applied and the environment will not be endangered.

The whole production is intended for export.
