More than 46.000 companies were founded in Serbia in 2019

Last year, more than 46,000 companies were founded in Serbia, an increase of 3.82%, while the number of entrepreneurs is 1.22% lower than in 2018, the Agency for Business Registers (APR) announced.

Most companies are registered for non-specialized wholesale trade, construction of (non) residential buildings, computer programming, business consulting services, restaurants, cafes, road haulage companies, car dealers, hairdressers and beauty salons were opened.

On the first day of this year, a total of 119,557 companies and 271,210 entrepreneurs were registered in Serbia.

Agency data show that out of the total number of registered companies, 359 companies and 2,031 entrepreneurs were established through eRegistration last year.

The figures indicate that for the last five years, the number of established companies in Serbia has increased by 11.94% and entrepreneurs by 11.14%.

Limited liability companies (8,734) are still the most established, and 303 cooperatives were established last year.

Also, 77 branches of foreign companies, 37 branches of foreign legal entities and 37 representations of foreign companies, three partnerships and two joint stock companies as well as one public company were registered.

On the other hand, 27,163 companies were deleted from the Companies Register in 2019, most of which, about 22,400, were deleted after the compulsory winding-up procedure, writes eKapija.
