Serbia has advanced four places in the World Bank 2020 (WB) list of jobs, and is now ranked 44th among 190 countries.
The WB said the reforms enabled more effortless procedure in obtaining construction permits, reducing administrative taxes, and secured a more reliable power supply.
Besides, Serbia secured better protection of minority investments, the transparency in companies’ reports and some facilitation in tax-paying, according to the WB.
New Zealand tops the list as the country where doing business is the easiest and is followed by Singapore and Hong Kong.
Among the Western Balkans countries, North Macedonia is best placed as the 17th, then Slovenia as the 37th, while Montenegro and Croatia end below Serbia at 50th and 51st position respectively.
