Serbia’s Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met with representatives of steel works Red October, which is one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality rolled special steel grades for automotive, aerospace, chemical, oil and energy industry and mechanical engineering. During the meeting, a possible privatisation of Zelezara Smederevo was discussed and both parties agreed to work together on possible models of cooperation.
The Serbian government will soon launch the process of privatisation of Zelezara Smederevo steel works and it expects that factory Red October will be one of credible bidders with whom the best solution for Zelezara Smederevo will be found, through a transparent process of privatisation.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of preserving jobs and ensuring the continuity of work of Serbia’s only manufacturer of steel and steel alloys.
