Sale contract for Optika from Belgrade signed

Representatives of the Serbian Privatisation Agency and the Share Fund signed yesterday a contract on the sale of shares of Belgrade-based Optika with the first-ranked bidder, a consortium of legal entities Veterinarski Zavod Zemun from Belgrade and Beta ITH PBB Belgrade.

The consortium is the first-ranked bidder at the tender for the sale of 34,073 shares which make up 59.86% of the company’s total capital.

The basic elements of the contract are a sale price of €7.764 million and an investment programme worth €898,500.

Six bids were submitted at the public tender published on September 28, 2007. At the second session of the tender commission, the bids were ranked in the following manner:

1. Consortium Veterinarski Zavod Zemun from Belgrade and Beta ITH PBB from Belgrade, whose offer was worth €7,764,048.13;

2. Grossoptic from Belgrade, whose offer was worth €5,702,406;

3. Consortium Lilly Drogerie and Fins Trade from Belgrade, whose offer was worth €5,254,774;

4. Fidelinka from Subotica, whose offer was worth €4,449,483.90;

5. Salmoiraghi & Vighano s.p.a. from Milan, Italy, whose offer was worth €3,798,066.03;

6. Home Art Sales & Services, from Wollerau, Switzerland, whose offer was worth €865,711.40.

At the second session, held on April 14, 2008, the tender commission decided to begin talks with the first-ranked bidder.
