Serbia, Albania and Northern Macedonia will open a new era of economic and political co-operation after a major business forum bringing together about 250 companies from the Western Balkans in Skopje tomorrow.
The requirements of the economy and the idea of a single market in which companies would operate much easier, simpler and faster, should be put into practice – politics. That is why the Prime Ministers of Albania and Northern Macedonia, Edi Rama and Zoran Zaev, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, will participate in this gathering.
The organizers of this most important economic gathering in the last few years are the chambers of commerce of the region and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. PKS President Marko Cadez says that the economy of the region has put before its politicians several important initiatives that should lead to even better business of our economies.
“We are entering a completely new era of economic and political cooperation in the region, especially when it comes to these three countries, Albania, Northern Macedonia and Serbia. We see concrete shifts and benefits for the economy and citizens, and we invite other ZB6 economies to join,” says Cadez.
The Prime Ministers of Albania and Northern Macedonia and the President of Serbia will sign several agreements that will greatly facilitate the business of our economies and make the common market more competitive for the largest European and world companies.
“We want to remove all barriers to the free flow of people, goods, services and capital in our countries, so that all permits from the competent inspections, market, phytosanitary and others, are valid in all countries, regardless of where they are issued. We also expect that “fast passages” will be set up at the borders for the citizens and the economy of Albania, Northern Macedonia and Serbia,” Cadez points out.
According to him, one of the most important initiatives that the SCC insists on is the introduction of single work permits.
“The economy knows very well how many problems there are today with the lack of quality labor. In a very short period of time, we will have the opportunity for citizens of all three countries to find a job and work anywhere in the territory of the signatories of this document,” says Cadez.
He also announces new projects that would further connect the economy and the citizens of these three countries, such as the introduction of a single electronic toll collection system that brings savings in money and time to both the economy and citizens.
The largest number of companies participating in the forum comes from the construction sector, agri-food industry, energy, machinery, auto and textile industry, tourism, ICT and telecommunications, transport and logistics, and other spheres of the economy, Novosti reports.
