Serbian construction sector thrives abroad: Highlights from 2023

In 2023, Serbian construction contractors completed works abroad totaling around 22 billion dinars or approximately 187 million euros, as announced today by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (RZS). The highest construction activity, by country, was observed in Germany, accounting for 31.2% of the total value of completed works, followed by Russia at 26.1%, Uganda at 10.5%, and Montenegro at 8.7%.

A total of 1,613 Serbian workers were engaged by contractors abroad, with the majority employed in Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Netherlands, and Montenegro.
