Adrijana Mesarović, Serbia’s Minister of Economy, presented Serbia’s economic and business environment, as well as its strategic future planning, at the 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen. She emphasized that Serbia is a key showcase for Chinese companies entering the European market.

Mesarović expressed her pride in participating in the Global Development Initiative Dialogue, noting China’s strategic goals in civilization, security and development planning. She highlighted Serbia’s role as a founding member of the Belt and Road Initiative and its commitment to peace and sustainable development, reinforced by the recent Free Trade Agreement with China.

She anticipates that the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement will boost economic activity and exports in the coming months. Mesarović will also represent Serbia at the CIFIT opening tomorrow, where Serbia will have its National Pavilion.

Danijel Nikolić, Assistant Secretary General of the Serbian Government, announced that Serbia is prepared for CIFIT, with its National Pavilion ready to receive a high-level Chinese delegation, including the Vice Premier. This year’s focus will be on promoting the Free Trade Agreement and attracting Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises to invest in Serbia.

Nikolić highlighted the Free Trade Agreement’s benefits, such as the ability to export value-added products to a vast market, including the EU, Russia, and the Eurasian Union. He noted that Serbian products, marked “Made in Serbia,” are highly regarded by Chinese consumers.

The CIFIT, running from September 8 to 11 in Xiamen, is expected to draw over 120,000 visitors from more than 100 countries. Serbia’s National Pavilion was awarded as the best last year. Xiamen, a modern city known for its ecological standards and major port, has a population of over five million.
