Finance Minister highlights Serbia’s strong economic growth in 2024

Finance Minister Siniša Mali recently attended a session of the Council for Coordination of Activities and Measures for GDP Growth, led by Prime Minister Miloš Vučević. The meeting focused on discussing Serbia’s economic indicators, ongoing projects and future plans.

Mali shared positive news on his Instagram, noting that Serbia’s GDP grew by 4.2% in the second quarter of this year, surpassing projections. Combined with a 4.7% growth in the first quarter, this brings the total growth for the first half of 2024 to 4.5%.

Mali highlighted that Serbia’s economy is currently the fastest-growing in Europe, outpacing Spain (2.8%), Lithuania (2.2%), Portugal (1.5%), Hungary (1.5%), and France (1.3%).

In addition to strong economic growth, Mali emphasized that favorable economic indicators provide an opportunity to further enhance the quality of life for Serbian citizens by increasing salaries, pensions, and minimum wages.
