Serbia has more than 37 tons of gold reserves and these reserves have been withdrawn to our country, said today the governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), Jorgovanka Tabakovic.
“We have a full vault of gold and we intend to continue buying it,” Tabakovic said.
She says that a few months ago, after a meeting with IMF representatives, when he left the hall, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic asked if Serbia’s gold reserves were “out” and that he thought that gold should be in Serbia.
“I said that it was abroad, in Bern, Switzerland, and that only one ton remained in London from ‘that time’. Vucic told me that he thinks that it should be here in Serbia, with the remark – you don’t know what is happening in the world,” Tabakovic stated for Pink.
She says that she immediately, within two months, organized the transfer of all gold reserves to Serbia.
“And the gold of the state of Serbia is in the vaults of the NBS, over 37 tons,” she emphasized, Nova reports.
