The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has granted Serbia 627.6 million Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), equivalent to about 890.22 million dollars or 759.71 million euros.
This is a considerable amount, considering that the quota of Serbia in the IMF is 0.14 percent.
– At this moment, we have not yet defined when, whether and for what we would use that money, because that is information from two or three days ago. Together with the NBS, the employees of the Ministry of Finance and the Government of Serbia, we are thinking about how and whether to use that means and, of course, at what moment – said the Minister Mali, answering the question of the journalists after the Collegium of the Social and Economic Council.
He pointed out that Serbia has extremely good relations with the IMF and reminded that our country signed a new agreement with that financial institution in June this year.
– It is a confirmation of our determination to continue the reforms that we started to implement together with them in 2014, and this result, the message from the IMF that Serbia has at its disposal a large amount of money is another confirmation not only of our successful cooperation Serbia’s success in implementing reforms – concluded the Minister of Finance, Srbija Danas reports.
