Many people have lost their jobs in Serbia, while those figures in Europe are in hundreds of thousands.
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that the IMF is predicting the smallest fall in our country because we have been ready for this crisis because of earlier measures.
– We are a country that could spend all its money on medicines, respirators and equipment. In addition, we were able to provide a timely and serious package of financial support measures, and we are among the countries that have committed the most funds to support the economy – said the Prime Minister.
In addition to Serbia, only six countries (USA, China, Australia, UK, France and Germany) have a package of measures in the amount of double-digit percent of GDP.
– In March, we had an increase of 2.3 percent and our country was still growing compared to last year – said Ana Brnabic.
She stated that 6,047 people in Serbia lost their jobs, and in Europe those numbers are measured in the hundreds of thousands, while in the US millions are at stake.
She also noted that in the IT and manufacturing industries we had employment growth even during the crisis, Srbija Danas reports.
