Serbia is investing 145 million euros in a dedicated industry to modernize factories and build new plants

The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, together with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Nebojsa Stefanović, and the Minister of Finance, Siniša Mali, held a meeting with representatives of the defense industry from all over the country.
Addressing the press after the meeting, Vučić said that on that occasion, a decision was made to help the domestic purpose-built industry with 145 million euros in the first quarter of 2022.
– We have found a way to invest the mentioned funds, under the strict control of the Ministry of Finance, in the purchase of new production plants, machines and equipment, so that we can modernize our factories and encourage better production, profitability and better products for our army – said Vucic, it was published on the website of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
Also, as he added, a decision was made today that the state will order equipment, weapons and tools in the next five years – vehicles and ammunition, rocket mines from the domestic purpose-built industry worth 1.25 billion euros.
This will be an additional incentive for the development of the purpose-built industry and huge progress in purchases by the Serbian Army, the President said, adding that the meeting was attended by representatives of all 13 of our defense industry factories and three overhaul institutes – TRC Cacak, TRZ Kragujevac and Moma Stanojlovic and their subsidiaries.
Earlier, at the Military Airport, Sergeant-Pilot Mihajlo Petrović attended the demonstration of the actions of the helicopter unit of the Air Force and members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade of the Serbian Army.
Yesterday, on the second day of his visit to the Nisava district, Vučić met with the top of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army, with whom he discussed the needs of the defense system and investments in the army.
He also attended the presentation of the work of the NORA B-52 M15 self-propelled howitzer division on the topic “Division in support of infantry and armored units in attack”, within which the actions of the newly formed howitzer-cannon division of the Mixed Artillery Brigade of the Serbian Army were presented.
The President also visited Doljevac, where he visited the renovated Public Library, where he was welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information Maja Gojković, eKapija reports.
