In Serbia, works are underway to reconstruct 19 health facilities, with a contracted value of 94 million euros. Reconstruction of 15 health facilities is also under preparation, with work planned to begin in 2020, eKapija finds out from the Office of Public Investment Management.
Major projects in the field of health care in 2020 are the construction of a new University Children’s Clinic facility known as Tirsova 2, the reconstruction of the Institute for Mother and Child in Belgrade, the continuation of work at the Clinical Center of Vojvodina and the rehabilitation of the existing Infectious Clinic.
Specifically, in the spring of 2020, it is planned to begin construction of a new facility for the University Children’s Clinic, popularly Tirsova 2.
– The value of the project, which involves the construction and complete equipping of a 30,000 m2 facility, has been estimated at around 60 million euros, while the time required for the project to be implemented is estimated at 3 years – said the Office.
When it comes to reconstruction of the facility of the Institute for Mother and Child, the Office for Public Investment for our portal says that the project technical documentation is under development.
– The plan is for the first phase of the works (the outer cover of the building) to start during the first quarter of 2020. In February 2020, reconstruction works for the Vojvodina CC are expected, with an estimated value of 34 million euros.
Reconstruction of KCV was started three years ago, the reconstruction of four clinics has been completed so far, and at the moment works are being carried out on a total of seven Clinics.
The Infectious Disease Clinic in Belgrade will also await the long-awaited and much-needed reconstruction, and according to the plan, rehabilitation of the existing facility of the clinic should start in early February.
– It is planned to reconstruct part of the Clinic complex and build a brand new facility. At the moment, the Urban Planning Project is underway for the location of the new Infective Clinic building, where the entire clinic will be relocated. Considering that the planning documents are only in the process of being drawn up and, accordingly, the construction of the new facility cannot begin before the fall of 2021 and cannot be completed before the end of 2023, and it is necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of the clinic by then in conditions suitable for both doctors and patients, a decision was made to rehabilitate part of the Clinic complex and then move the entire function of the Clinic to renovated facilities.
The reconstructed facilities with a total gross area of 7,573m2, foreseen by the first phase of work, can be used for other compatible purposes in the future after successful relocation of the Infectious Diseases Clinic within the Clinical Center, the Office explained.
The second phase envisages the construction of a brand new facility where the entire clinic will be relocated, which is currently housed in 6 facilities.
– During the second phase, it is planned to improve the work of the Clinic by integrating it into one whole, as opposed to the current setting, which is not necessary for normal operation. The area of the new facility will be about 11,500 m2 – the Office has announced.
EKapija also asked when the start of the construction of the new Gynecological Obstetric Clinic Narodni Front on Bezanijska kosa can be expected:
– The preparation of planning documents is coming to an end and during 2020 the development of design and technical documentation for the construction of a completely new facility of this institution will begin, which, upon completion of the works, will be moved to a new location (Bezanijska kosa). The plan is to start construction of a brand new facility by the end of 2020. In the meantime, the equipment for the needs of this institution will be purchased in order to significantly improve the quality of care provided under the existing conditions. The value of the ongoing procurement is estimated at 5.5 million euros – the Office said.
In 2019, 35 million euros were invested in the reconstruction of health facilities, of which 28 million euros for construction works on the reconstruction of facilities, and 7 million euros for equipping health facilities.
