With the signing of this document, “the Serbian and Montenegrin institutions for the protection of competition will come even closer to European standards in the field of competition law and policy, which represent an important segment of the process of negotiations on accession to full-fledged membership of the European Union,” the release said.

The signing marked the completion of formal cooperation of the Serbian Commission for Protection of Competition with all states in the region, a considerable help in the future work of monitoring and sanctioning irregularities in the market.
