Serbian President Boris Tadić and the president of the Friuli Venezia Guilia region, Renzo Tondo, assessed that Italian company investments in Serbia contribute to the preservation of jobs in Italy. At a joint press conference, held on the occasion of an Italian-Serbian business forum in Trieste, Tondo reiterated that a free trade agreement with Serbia could be beneficial for Italy. Cooperation with Serbia can make young experts stay in Italy and not move abroad, he said. Tadić emphasized that Serbia wants the internationalization of Italian companies wishing to use trade possibilities towards eastern Europe and not their relocation.

By having free trade agreements with Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Belarus, CEFTA, EFTA and the EU, and soon with Ukraine, Serbia creates better conditions for Italian employees as it opens new markets for Italian companies, stressed Tadić.
