First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic and Republika Srpska Minister of the Interior Stanislav Cadj signed a Memorandum on strengthening police cooperation between the two ministries.
Dacic pointed out that building good relations with Republika Srpska is of vital interest for Serbia, adding that our country is the guarantor of the Dayton Agreement, which allows the signing of a Memorandum on cooperation between the two ministries.
Our cooperation has been at a very high level, said Dacic, adding that such cooperation is not out of political needs, but because of the daily and operational needs of the two police.
Cooperation between the two ministries will certainly improve in the period to come, said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Cadjo said that he discussed with Dacic investigations relating to the sale of business premises and property of Republika Srpska in Serbia and the region, adding that concrete results are expected soon.
The signing of the memorandum was also attended by Republika Srpska Prime Minister Aleksandar Dzombic, who said that promoting the fight against crime and corruption, as well as an increased level of security are the results of good cooperation between the interior ministries of the two countries.
He said that the second joint session of the Serbian government and the government of Republika Srpska will be in the next few months.
The signing of this memorandum was also attended by the directors of police of the Republic of Serbia and Republika Srpska Milorad Veljovic and Gojko Vasic.
The Memorandum was signed in accordance with the agreement on special and parallel relations between Serbia and Republika Srpska.
The document stipulates improvement of cooperation of the police services in the fight against organised crime, cooperation in the field of European integration, scientific and technical support, and the sharing of information and best practices.
