Serbia signed a memorandum with China for the procurement of high-speed trains

The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Tomislav Momirovic, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ambassador of China in Belgrade, Chen Bo, on cooperation for railway vehicles.
This Memorandum, signed between the Republic of Serbia, Srbija Voz and the companies China Railway International Co. LTD and CRRC Corporation Limited, agreed on cooperation and laid the basis for the potential procurement of electric trains for speeds of 200 kilometers per hour, for the needs of the organization of passenger traffic on the future high-speed line Belgrade Center – Novi Sad – Subotica, it is written in the announcement of the Ministry.
Momirovic pointed out that this Memorandum is a continuation of the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation in the Field of Infrastructure from 2009.
Chen Bo said that the Chinese and Serbian sides had made great efforts in order for the project of building the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway to progress continuously, normally and stably.
The cooperation agreed in the Memorandum will be realized on the principles of commercial relations, compliance with technical specifications of interoperability and in accordance with all applicable domestic and European standards and regulations, 021 reports.
