Serbian citizens are asking the NBS to prevent interest on the moratorium

The United Trade Unions of Serbia “Sloga” call on the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Jorgovanka Tabakovic to immediately intervene with banks that had a moratorium on loans during the three months of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic and reset them to an agreement before the moratorium agreed with the NBS.
According to the statement, the NBS then claimed that the moratorium would not create any additional costs for the client, which it presented on an example on its website, which was tempting, and which has now been established as a great deception of citizens by playing numbers in favor of banking lobby.
“As we have been informed by our union members, some banks have raised outrageously high interest rates on loan installments, especially for housing loans, with an indecent offer for clients to continue repaying the loan increased by the interest calculated for the last three months, or to he pays everything with interest at once. It is not a moratorium, it is blackmail, it is Governor Tabakovic bank leaching against the citizens of Serbia, who, due to the still undefined consequences of the pandemic on the economy, are still worried about their jobs,” Sloga estimates.
However, they emphasize that this is a continuation of the continuous deception of the citizens of Serbia, because for years, with the support of the NBS, they have been ruthlessly plundering the most expensive loans and banking services, which are the largest in Europe, Danas reports.
