Deputy Prime Minister for economy and regional development Verica Kalanovic presented an agreement on hiring additional 200 workers at Litostroj Potisje plc from Ada.

Kalanovic stressed that this is a successful beginning of a job, adding that products that are currently not being produced in Serbia will soon appear on the market.

She noted that export increase is the overall goal of the Serbian economy.

Thanks to an investment support programme of the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA), Litostroj Potisje received €3,000 per each new employee, she said, adding that the company produces high-alloy steel casts and currently employs 131 workers.

This investment will help the company to increase production and export, bearing in mind that 50% of its output is export-oriented, she observed.

Kalanovic also visited Termometal, a company which is a good example of how a family tradition can turn into a business success.

The Deputy Prime Minister visited Zitopromet in Senta, a company producing mill products and an example of a successful privatisation process.
