Serbian govt. and IMF discuss reforms implemented in Serbia

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mirko Cvetkovic talked with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by IMF Head for Serbia Albert Jaeger.

The officials concluded that the results in 2011 show that fiscal policy is implemented in accordance with the agreed framework.

It was also pointed out that it is necessary that the implementation of fiscal policy is in accordance with established fiscal rules by year’s end.

During the meeting they also discussed reforms implemented in Serbia, as well as the reforms that will be implemented in the future to enhance the competitiveness of Serbian economy.

It was concluded that Serbia and the IMF will continue talks in August when all details of the new precautionary arrangement will be agreed on.

The precautionary arrangement includes an option to draw the funds, but not obligatorily. The Serbian government does not intend to withdraw these funds.
