Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Friday attended a presentation of Serbia’s investment potentials for businesspeople from Italy’s Veneto region.

Vucic also spoke with Veneto President Luca Zaia in a separate meeting.

“This is a good chance for Italian companies to get to know Serbia and for Serbian companies to seize their opportunity in the Italian market,” said Zaia, whose region is one of the richest in Europe.

Many companies from Veneto are already present in Serbia but our market is becoming more and more interesting, Vucic said, adding that he expected more Italian investors.

“Serbia embarked on painful, tough reforms two years ago. Today, our economic situation is very good. We have even exceeded IMF forecasts,” Vucic said.

Investors can count on full political stability and the largest duty-free market, which includes Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkey, Vucic said.
