Serbian public debt at 72.3 percent of GDP in April

Serbia’s total public debt reached EUR 24 billion at the end of April this year, or 72.3 percent of the country’s gross domestic product, the Finance Ministry said in a release.

At the end of March 2015, the public debt totaled EUR 24.19 billion and accounted for 73.3 percent of GDP.

Serbia’s direct liabilities stood at EUR 21.5 billion and indirect ones at EUR 2,5 billion at the end of April.

The Budget System Law sets the limit for the total government debt at 45 percent of GDP.
