Serbian, Turkish business institutions sign MOU

The National Agency for Regional Development from Serbia and the Turkish Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization (KOSGEB) signed a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Belgrade on Sunday.

The agreement was signed by Director of the National Agency for Regional Development Ivica Ezdenci and KOSGEB Vice President Tuna Sahin at the FOODREX Food and Beverages Fair, which took place at the Belgrade Fair Grounds on February 9-12.

Ezdenci said that the first step in the cooperation between the two countries’ businessmen had been realized through a series of meetings between food industry representatives that had just been held at the food and beverages fair.

The business meetings, held to see into opportunities for striking new deals, saw the participation of a total of 11 Turkish enterprises.

We plan to organize more business meetings over the year, as well as visits by Serbian companies to Turkey, Ezdenci said, adding that Turkey is a country developing at a high pace, while Serbia is in need for investors or business cooperates.

Sahin pointed out that the signing of the memorandum was just a beginning, as it was a document enabling the two institutions to jointly contribute to the promotion of cooperation between Turkish and Serbian enterprises.

The goal of the document is to establish close cooperation between the two countries’ small and medium enterprises, through exchange of information and experience, participation in fairs and organization of business meetings, the National Agency for Regional Development has said in a release.
