Serbia’s end-May central govt debt falls to 72.1%/GDP

Serbia’s central government debt amounted to 24.3 billion euro ($27.03 billion) at the end of May, equivalent to 72.1% of the gross domestic product (GDP), data from the country’s finance ministry showed.

At end-2015, the country’s central government debt amounted to a revised 24.8 billion euro, equivalent to 76% of its GDP, data published on the ministry’s website showed.

General government debt, including non-guaranteed local government debt in the amount of 397.6 million euro, amounted to 24.7 billion euro at end-May.

Total direct liabilities equalled 22.03 billion euro, while total contingent liabilities stood at 2.3 billion euro.
