Serbia’s public debt is 56.4 percent of GDP at the end of November

The deficit of the republic budget amounted to 1.26 billion euros in the period January-November 2021.
Serbia’s public debt amounted to 29.89 billion euros at the end of November 2021, which was 56.4 percent of the country’s gross domestic product, according to data published on the website of the Ministry of Finance.
The November amount of public debt increased by 281 million euros in nominal terms compared to the previous month, and its share in GDP is higher by 0.5 percentage points than in October, when it amounted to 55.9 percent.
At the beginning of 2021, in January, the public debt amounted to 27.14 billion euros, and its share in GDP was 51.2 percent, according to the data from the table of the Ministry of Finance.
Revenues were realized in the amount of 11 million euros, and expenditures were made in the amount of 12.3 million euros, the Ministry of Finance announced.
This result is better than the plan envisaged by the October rebalance of the budget by 135.5 million euros, since a deficit of 1.4 billion euros was planned for the mentioned period.
In November alone, a deficit of 438 million euros was realized.
In November, budget revenues of 1.06 billion euros were realized, of which tax revenues amounted to 905 million euros.
The largest part of tax revenues refers to the payment of VAT in the amount of 486 million euros and excise duties in the amount of 232.2 million euros. Non-tax revenues were realized in the amount of 140 million euros, and the inflow of donations amounted to 17 million euros.
Expenditures were made in the amount of 1.5 billion euros, of which expenditures for employees amounted to 232.2 million euros, capital expenditures 384 million euros, subsidies were made in the amount of 190 million euros, and transfers to PIO funds, RHIF, NES and SOVO in the amount of 145 million euros.
At the level of the general government, in the period January-November, the fiscal deficit in the amount of 950 million euros and the primary fiscal deficit in the amount of 42 million euros were realized, Politika reports.
