It is more and more likely that the construction of a solar power plant will start in the municipality of Nova Crnja, one of the most underdeveloped communities in Vojvodina. Negotiations with foreign investors are underway for few months now, and this project, which is a capital business undertaking for Nova Crnja, was also been discussed at the last meeting of the Municipal Assembly. The municipal administration has confirmed that President Pera Milankov has been talking with German and Italian investors since June about the construction of one of the most modern solar power plants on the territory of this border municipality.

As it is announced, the value of the investment is about 800 million euros, while the construction should last for three years.

About 400 new jobs are expected to be created. Within the scope of the project, a building operative would be formed with three-shift system and engagement of between 500 and 800 people. The project also envisages organization of a security service, which would, as a separate company, employ about hundred workers.

– Negotiations with the consortium of investors are already in their late phase. A representative of potential investors has recently visited Nova Crnja and the building site so that the chances are big that this biggest greenfield investment in Serbia will be implemented in Nova Crnja – said the people from the local self-government.

What has been asked from Nova Crnja has already been done – the Assembly has made the decision to start the project implementation. Further activities require inclusion of government structures because, if no interest in this investment is shown, the foreigners will search for another partner who would not set the limits. It is excessive to say how significant the construction of this solar plant is for the municipality of Nova Crnja.
