At a working luncheon at the hotel “Metropol” in Belgrade, organised by the US Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, Dacic said that all actions of the Serbian government are focused towards measures aimed at halting the decline of the economy and reiterated that the priority is the struggle for jobs.

We should reward anyone who opens a new job, said Dacic.

According to him, in order to improve the economic situation in Serbia a series of reforms will be conducted.

The Prime Minister stated that this year’s parametres are very negative – high budgetary deficit, the problem of breaking the statutory limit of borrowing and unstable domestic currency.

The Serbian dinar is the currency that probably has weakened the most of all in the region – by 53% in four years, the average salary in Serbia of €350 is almost the lowest in the region, and the unemployment rate of 25% is among the highest in Europe, Dacic specified and underlined that the government’s only goal is to change these parametres.

The government aim is that the budgetary deficit be 4% of less, while this year’s budgetary deficit will be a little less than 7%.
