Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic said that by adopting the Law on Ratification of the Partnership, Trade and Cooperation Agreement between Serbia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the National Assembly “provided further growth of trade in the interest of both countries, favorable conditions for new investments, as well as the continuation of successful overall bilateral cooperation”.
Matic stated in a written statement that “the agreement ensures that the business of economic entities of both countries is regulated by bilateral preferential, and not general rules, ie that exporting companies and importers continue with business activities on a regular basis.”
“On the other hand, relying on the Stabilization and Association Agreement between the European Communities and their member states, which was in force until the withdrawal of Great Britain from the European Union, provided security and predictability for businessmen, ie continuity in economic relations,” said Matic.
The Agreement on Partnership, Trade and Cooperation between the Governments of Serbia and the United Kingdom was signed on April 16 by Minister Tatjana Matic and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Belgrade Shan McLeod, N1 reports.
