The Minister of Finance of Serbia, Sinisa Mali, stated for RTS that the arrival of the American Development Agency (DFC), which finances projects that are of strategic importance for the whole world, means that Serbia is attractive for investment.
He estimated that the arrival of DFC, which has an annual budget of more than 60 billion dollars, represents a huge signal for investors and investments.
Sinisa Mali announces that the budget will be rebalanced this month or in October, when it will be seen whether we are slowly coming out of the crisis.
“We are following what is happening. In September or October, we will go with the budget rebalance, we also have budgets for 2021, to see what our revenues and inflows will be. We will all be much smarter in September and October. Then we will see if we are slowly coming out of the crisis,” Mali told RTS when asked if there would be new support measures.
“For us, it is a huge signal that speaks in favor of the fact that the situation in this region has calmed down, that we are attractive, that peace and stability in the region have been confirmed by this agreement. On the other hand, it is a huge signal to investors, especially American and those who speak and analyze our credit rating that Serbia is absolutely on the investment map. That is a signal – yes, come, this is a stable country, a stable region that has a lot of potential, otherwise we, as a development agency, would not come to it,” said Mali.
He adds that the American Development Agency is focused on financing projects that are of strategic importance for the region in which it is financed, with the support of the American administration.
According to him, the entire team is coming to Belgrade on September 21.
“They will come to Serbia within two weeks to open an office, to hire people who are necessary and start realizing investments. The center of their operations in the region will be in Belgrade, and the citizens of Serbia will benefit the most from the arrival and the money they provide,” the minister assessed, Danas reports.
