The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) approved a loan of 12 million euros to Vojvodina for the rehabilitation of energy efficiency in 80 public buildings on the territory of the Province next year. These are projects that would achieve significant savings for electricity and heating in educational, health and other public institutions.
“With the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, we have created the conditions to withdraw significant financial resources, in the amount of 12 million euros, with a grant of one million euros and 450,000 euros for the preparation of project documentation. We will use these funds for the reconstruction of facilities and the provision of green energy, which will lead to a reduction in the costs of local self-governments and the provincial administration,” said Mirović.
The Provincial Prime Minister and the Regional Director of the EBRD for the Western Balkans, Matteo Colangeli, signed a letter on pre-financing projects for improving the energy efficiency of public facilities in Vojvodina.
“The plan is to start this procedure in January, and to have the first contracts in the second half of the year after the public competition,” said Mirović.
“This is a very important project and a great chance for Vojvodina, because it will enable the self-sustainability of facilities that will be included in the rehabilitation of energy efficiency, and thus savings in the provincial budget will be achieved,” said EBRD Regional Director Mateo Colangeli.
