The Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) has introduced machine learning technologies and artificial intelligence in the process of forecasting electricity consumption and demand in order to reduce losses in production and distribution, the public company announced.
The statement states that with a more accurate forecast of electricity demand, the production, supply, distribution and trade of electricity in Serbia can be carried out in a more efficient way, with optimal costs.
– In order to make their work more efficient and improve the process of forecasting consumption and demand for electricity, the company decided to use Microsoft machine learning solutions. The result of this approach is simplified data entry and visualization and the ability to predict electricity demand over a longer period of time, while the time required to predict and the possibility of errors are reduced beyond all company expectations, according to EPS, Alo reports.
