The expropriation of land on the first section of the highway from Nis to Pristina has been completed, and 75% of the land on the entire route of the new road in the municipality of Merosina has been expropriated, the mayor of Merosina, Sasa Jovanovic, told the Beta agency.
He reminded that the route of the highway in the area of the municipality of Merosina is 15.7 kilometers long, and in order to be built, it is necessary to expropriate about 1,500 plots, while only one house will have to be bought.
“The construction of the highway will start from the ‘Merosina’ loop near the village of Balajnac, and we finished the expropriation on that first section, 5.5 kilometers long,” Jovanovic explained.
According to him, the existing road on that section will be used for the right side of the highway, while the left side of the highway will be built, from the direction of Nis to Merosina.
“We are bringing to an end the expropriation of land in the area of the village of Balicevac, and it is necessary for the land to be purchased in the area of the villages of Jug Bogdanovac and Arbanasce. The route of the new highway ends near Arbanasi in the area of the municipality of Merosina,” said Jovanovic.
He said that he believes that the expropriation of land on the route of the highway through that municipality will be completed by March, when the construction of the first section should start, Danas reports.
