The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Tatjana Matic, announced that the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Strategy for the Development of the Information Society and Information Security at the proposal of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications and determined the vision for the development of the information society in Serbia by 2026.
– Serbia recognizes the importance of digitalization and information security, which the enviable results in this area show. The strategy includes two important areas, namely the information society and information security, whose further development is a precondition for the complete digitalization of the society – said Matic, it was published in the announcement of the Ministry.
She added that the adoption and implementation of a strategic document in the field of information society development and information security is important in order to continue to further improve the digital knowledge and skills of all citizens, increase the capacity of employees in both public and private sectors to use new technologies of digital infrastructure in educational institutions. In addition, it is necessary to continue and intensify activities on digitalization of services and business in the public and private sector, and in addition it is very important to improve information security primarily by developing the capacity of relevant institutions, raising public awareness, encouraging public-private partnerships and regional and international cooperation.
The Strategy for the Development of the Information Society and Information Security for the Period from 2021 to 2026, with the Action Plan detailing activities until 2023, was adopted by the Government of Serbia at the session held on August 26, 2021, eKapija reports.
