Last year, 44,294 contracts for financial services between banks and users of financial services were concluded in Serbia, announced the National Bank of Serbia.
The conclusion of such contracts is made possible by the Law on Protection of Users of Financial Services in Distance Contracting from 2018 and the Decision on the Conditions and Method of Identifying and Verifying the Identity of an Individual Using the Electronic Communications Means adopted by the NBS last year.
“The importance of being able to conclude distance contracts and use video identification is best seen in times of crisis, when it is important for clients to do as much regular activities as possible, including those related to financial services, from home electronic channels of communication and modern technologies”, the NBS document states.
The NBS urges citizens to avoid going to the premises of financial institutions to the greatest extent possible in the interest of their health, and according to the recommendations of the competent institutions, and to use available electronic communication channels.
With regard to payments, NBS calls for the use of cashless payment options through instant payment using mobile banking applications or payment cards, Kamatica reports.
