The number of tourists in Serbia halved in June

There were 170,411 tourists in Serbia in June this year, which is 52.5 percent less than in the same month last year, while the number of tourist nights decreased by 43.3 percent, to 560,179, the Republic Bureau of Statistics announced.
There were 145,970 domestic ones, which is 16.3 percent less than a year ago, and 24,441 foreigners, 86.3 percent less.
The number of overnight stays of domestic tourists decreased by 17.2 percent, and overnight stays of foreign tourists by 84.8 percent. There were 19,989 tourists in Belgrade in June, of which 8,787 were domestic and 11,202 foreigners.
Most foreign tourists in Serbia were from BiH, Germany, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Turkey.
In the first half of this year, there were 780,785 tourists in Serbia, which is 52.7 percent less than in the same period last year.
The turnover of goods in retail trade in Serbia in June this year, compared to a year ago, was higher in current prices by 9.6 percent, and in constant prices by 11.5 percent.
In the first half of the year, retail sales were up 3.8 percent at current prices and 4.2 percent higher at constant prices, N1 reports.
