The Securities Commission in Serbia warns of risky investments

Due to the increased public interest, the Securities Commission issued a warning to potential investors regarding investing in binary options and other high-risk, complex financial instruments such as financial contracts for price differences (CFDs) and leveraged products.

“We note that companies that offer trading in binary options and other high-risk financial instruments and advertise this type of investment on social networks, as a rule do not have the permission of the Commission, have no headquarters or business unit in Serbia, nor is their work supervised by the relevant regulatory body. For these reasons, the purchase of binary options, financial contracts for differences in price and products with leverage is not recommended for persons without knowledge and experience in trading financial instruments,” the Commission said.

Everyone who participates in trading in these instruments does so at their own (great) risk – the Commission warned.

As it is added, only investment companies that have the permission of the Commission can provide investment services in Serbia, and that the list of those investment companies is available on the website of the Commission.

“If investment services are offered to you by an investment company that you cannot find on the Commission’s website, we invite you to inform the Commission,” the statement reads, N1 reports.
